Lakes - Chesta

It was decided to do the Dhakuria lakes and meet at the usual spot, Calcutta Rowing Club at 7.00 a.m this Sunday 20th March, 2005.

Dr. Basu has invited ALL hashers this Sunday at 11:00 a.m., on behalf of CHESTA (Centre for Health Education Social Transformation and Action), to go to the inauguration of the new building of the B.B.M.P. School at Srikrishnapur in Dasghara (behind Jotish Bhavan). This was the school George, Siddique and I visited before that was "under construction". The Hash is invited because we contributed earlier to the success of this school's sports day where I actually won my morning cuppa tea mug with angels for the visiting ladies walking micro-marathon.

Lee and George plan to go after the morning walk at the Lakes. Others interested can go in convoy, plus they could take one or two riding in the back with them. The drive, as I recall, was about an hour and a half through lush green fields bordering villages with mud huts beside pukurs or ponds. Dasghara also has a beautiful tumble down rajbari with lions on the gate.

I hope you’ll all enjoy this Sunday’s outing. If there are many of you, then please confirm by return email so that instead of George’s car, our comfortable George bus can be organized!

27th March is Easter Sunday so any ideas for the hash run.

I may be in Barrackpore this Sunday and Shantiniketan the next Sunday so I’ll miss all the fun. Keep me posted.

Dear Hashers,
Your response to the Calcutta Micro Marathon connect with the city event has been fabulous. We will all run/walk the 4.2 kms. Sorry George, but men aren't allowed to even run with the ladies in the 10.5 km. Ladies who want to run the 10.5 km have to submit a medical certificate. Please meet near the basket ball tent on Red Road. The whole of Red Road will be closed off so we suggest you meet us by 6:30 am. My mobile is 9830014934 for those who need to collect their forms. Those of you who have got your forms, it does say produce the copy to collect your Chest nos. Anyway there will be mikes making announcements so I'm sure we won't get lost. The names registered are as follows. In case you can't make it please let me know.

Cheers,

Last week, on March 13, we all connected with the city running/walking in the fun Marathon micro-run wearing white T shirts and caps sponsored by Airtel and the Telegraph. The March hares are turning into Mad Hatters.

Hasher - Last Sunday's marathon run was fun, but where did everyone go after the run? Since we could find no one else, around fourteen of us went to the old reliable Taj for breakfast. We had a few new-comers. Since nothing had been planned for the next week it was deciced to do the Dhakuria lakes and meet at the usual spot, Calcutta Rowing Club at 7.00 a.m. Sunday 20th March, 2005.

Back from Holi in Shanitiniketan and everyone asks how it was. Since we didn’t actually do a hash run I wasn’t too keen on a Hash Trash but I’m also not up to answering “How was Shantiniketan?” anymore. The answer is great. You should have been there.
